Business Development Executive
VA - Falls Church, VA
Mercom is looking for a self-motivated individual to
join our team as a Business Development Executive! Candidates must have a
complete understanding of the Business Development process which entails the
development of direct federal agency relationships, proficiency in a Federal
Agency’s budget, initial development of technical requirements, cost volume
input, teaming, pricing strategies and competitive assessments, understanding the
business development process within the government contracting industry and
having in-depth knowledge of both the Federal Acquisitions Regulations and
State and Municipal Agencies. Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years’
experience in sales and business development. Bachelor’s degree in a related
field required; Master’s degree and PMP a plus.
Knowledge and experience working directly with Government agencies and
the Federal sector is required. Knowledge of the IT field is preferred. An
active security clearance is a plus.
- Must
have existing Federal Agency knowledge.
- Obtain
and manage government contracts.
- Use
IT, Intelligence, Training or Language industry specific connections.
- Qualify
new business opportunities for the company, drive strategic development,
develop and retain new clientele and achieve or exceed revenue goals.
- Coordinate
with other departments within organization to develop new business strategies.
- Conduct
market analysis and develop new methods for marketing company using new and
traditional media.
- Cultivate
and execute strategic partnerships.
- Win
new business and strategize in retaining current programs.
- Communicate
effectively to senior management.
- Lead
and manage department resources to produce a winning proposal within client’s
budget and schedule constraints.
- Evaluate
competitor analysis for the opportunity.
- Provide
input for a winning strategy for the contract pursuit, including an innovative
technical management solution at a winning price.
- Prepare
and deliver pursuit and business development briefs to senior management.
- Meet
and establish relationship with vendors, manufacturers and partners that impact
proposal submission and award.
- Work
independently and exercise independent judgment on a regular basis.
