AV/VTC Design Engineer

Mercom is looking for a talented individual to join our team as an AV/VTC Design Engineer. The AV/VTC Design Engineer is responsible for the design
and engineering of AV Components including Video Teleconferencing systems. Individuals must have knowledge of Crestron, AMX, Polycom and Tandberg systems.
Applicants should have at least 5 years of commercial experience in AV/VTC design to include control systems and AV/VTC systems. Individuals must have experience
in designing both digital and analog systems and should be proficient with auto cad as
well. Applicants must have the ability to receive and maintain a government security clearance; an active clearance is a plus.
Ideal Candidates will have CTS-D certifications.
- Provide technical presales support for Business Development staff, including customer visits
- Responsible for designing a bill of materials and labor estimate per the customer’s specifications
- Create and edit Auto Cad designs
- Interface with customers where needed
- Continued training for technicial advancements in field
- Configure and implement Polycom and Tandberg Video Teleconferencing systems
- Perform the implementation of Crestron Control systems
- Configure and implement AV systems
- Understand and interpret floor plans and schematics
- Willing and able to travel to job sites
- Ability to work independently but also be a team player
