Stella and Larry Mercado

Stella Mercado co-founded Mercom Corporation in 2000 and serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Board of Directors for Mercom Corporation. As CEO, Ms. Mercado has overall responsibility for finance, corporate treasury, corporate revenue, corporate investments, accounting, internal audit and tax policy, as well as regulatory reporting and supervision. As President, Ms. Mercado aligns corporate and strategic planning, provides overall direction for the company and ensures team building and an optimistic corporate culture. Her leadership has led to multiple honors and awards from her peers and industry.

Ms. Mercado received a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish from the University of Virginia in 1995. Ms. Mercado is an active member of industry associations such as BICSI and AFCEA as well as a founding member of the Grand Strand Technology Business Council.

 

Larry Mercado co-founded Mercom Corporation in 2000 and serves as Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of the Board of Directors, as well as Facilities Security Officer (FSO) for Mercom Corporation. As COO, Mr. Mercado runs the day to day business operations of the company and has responsibility for business development, capture management, government and commercial contracts, and quality assurance. Additionally, Mr. Mercado leads the efforts to develop and implement long term strategy for all business activities and as FSO is responsible for managing corporate security policies and procedures in accordance with the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), applicable DOD, DOE, NSA and other Federal government agency regulations and directives, and Mercom’s corporate policies.

Mr. Mercado serves as Treasurer for the Board of Directors of Regime IX, Riverwood Association; Director of the Alliance for Economic Development of Georgetown County; and has been appointed to the Georgetown County Economic Development Commission. Mr. Mercado is an active member of industry associations such as BICSI, AFCEA, InfraGard, and is a founding member of the Grand Strand Technology Business Council. Mr. Mercado received a B.A. in sociology from the University of Virginia. He lives in Pawley’s Island, SC with his wife and three children.
